In the warmer months the Cootamundra Cycling Club holds a short Skills Development Event (26 km) every Sunday morning which usually attracts between 10 and 50 riders of all abilities. The event starts at 9:00 am at the intersection of the Berthong Road and the Cootamundra-Stockinbingal Road (2km west of town) just over the railway crossing near the Golf Driving Range. The cost is $5 per event and participants must have at least a Ride Membership (Silver) NSW Cycling Licence or above. Click here to see the different licence levels and a link to costs.
The event is an out & back course with a nice little climb just before the turn and is mainly to introduce riders to bunch riding as a transition from group training rides to hopefully competing at Interclub level Handicap racing or Open Handicap Racing. Riders from all ability levels are welcome to participate. Once again, a coffee after the event is a must!
